Hurricane Fiona Relief

Hurricane Fiona Relief

All proceeds of Limestone Lures Sales will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross Hurricane Fiona In Canada Appeal

As you've probably heard, Hurricane Fiona has devastated Atlantic Canada and while the east coast of the mainland got hit hard, the southwest coast of Newfoundland got hammered the worst as the post-tropical storm, according the the Canadian Hurricane Center, had the lowest pressure ever recorded for a storm making landfall in Canada and it carved a swath of destruction across the small town of Port Aux Basques.

I was born and raised in St. John's, Newfoundland, so when I had heard the stories of people watching their houses, cars and everything they own washed out to sea, my heart broke.

Hundreds of thousands of people on the East Coast of Canada are without power, clean drinking water, food or a place to sleep.

Fortunately, the Canadian Red Cross had been preparing for the predicted outcome of Hurricane Fiona, staging supplies inland so they can be made available to Canadians suffering in the wake of such a horribly powerful force of nature. They do not, however, have unlimited resources at their disposal.

All of Canada is hurting right now while we are on the precipice of recession, but if you are in a position to donate to the Canadian Red Cross, I urge you to do so. You can make your donations at the following link:

Limestone Lures will do it's part too. From now until Oct 15th, the proceeds of ALL sales of Limestone Lures products will be donated to the Canadian Red Cross Hurricane Fiona In Canada Appeal. So if you're not in a position to donate directly, you can still help while stocking up on soft plastics for fall fishing!

Not looking to buy more lures right now? You can still help! Share this news post so everyone knows there are multiple ways to help our fellow Canadians who desperately need support!

As a Newfoundlander, from the bottom of my heart thank you for your support, regardless if it is in a monetary form or helping spreading the word.
